日本の柔術も、戦場の鎧組み討ち術から発展したものですが、基本原理として短刀を持つことを前提にしているのです。

　この事実を知らずにブラジリアン柔術の観点から格闘技として日本の古流柔術を見てしまうと何も解らなくなってしまうんですよ。

　現代で考えるなら、やはり合気道ですね。合気道は大刀や短刀を扱うものと想定すると動きの秘密が解けます。攻撃が手刀打ちというのが刀の代用なんですよ。

　つまり、合気道の技って、大半が“無刀捕り”なんですよね。

　よって、合気道を学んでいる人は剣術を研究してみることをお勧めしますよ。
